The day was previously known as Dingane Day that was pre-1994 it was named after the Zulu King uDingane.  The naming of the day Reconciliation Day is a controversial move especially for those of us the section of society which refuses to take things at face value but analyse things deeply. It is controversial because it is an attempt to coerce the natives (Africans) into some reconciliation with the invaders(Whites) without the invaders having apologized for the atrocities of Colonialism and Apartheid. The White population continue benefiting from the legacy of Colonialism and Apartheid which is a legacy of violent dispossession of the Africans of their land and livestock, a legacy of slavery.  MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT IS AS DISTRACTION TO BLACK MAN!. The mindless and meaningless entertainment has proven to be a serious distraction to Black Men. I am deliberately targeting Black Men because we are the ones always leading in the introduction of this mindless entertainment and end up luring Black Women into this mindless activities we call entertainment. Is it not us Black Man who introduced harmful practices such as the dubious "Mavuso" an act of picking up ladies from the taverns and other places of "entertainment" sleep with them over-night and then offer them money in the morning?.Is it not Black Men who go out into these so-called places of entertainment with a sole purpose of luring women using material things such as cars and alcohol,and worse some target young women,ladies who are young enough to be their daughters?.  EXPEL THE ISRAELI EMBASSY FROM SOUTH AFRICA NOW! There has been growing calls for South Africa to cut ties with the Apartheid and Murderous Israel with immediate effect. This is not a new call but has been in existence for decades,it was just renewed by the recent escalated attacks by Israel on the people of Palestine. Most will be aware that on the 7th of October 2023 Hamas undertook a defensive military operation to attack some parts of Israel,this operation resulted into a death of over thousand Israel citizens. I am terming this military operation by Hamas as a defensive operation because it is one of the tactics used by the oppressed people to free themselves from the shackles of oppressors(Israel in this case).  TRIBALISM REMAINS AN OBJECT AGAINST THE UNITY OF AFRIKANS!. The history of Afrikans is fraught with stories and accounts of how racism has always been thorny issue which caused divisions and ultimately weakened the Afrikan States opening them up to the invading and blood thirsty Arabs and Europeans. What we do know is that this has not always been the case with Africa,especially South Africa. Christmas Day is a day linked to the religion of Christianity . Christianity in its current form was introduced to Africa by the Europeans (Missionaries) who came to Africa as early as 1400s,these Missionaries were accompanying or were part of the invading Europeans who came to Colonize Africa. This was part of their expansionist program or agenda in search of more land mainly for economic reasons,hence they never thought twice or hesitate to commit atrocities and genocide in their quest to conquer and disposes Africans of their land.  RACISM IS NOT ABOUT INDIVIDUAL ATTITUDE,BUT ABOUT GROUP ECONOMIC POWER!. South Africa is one of the countries that continue to be haunted by the spectre of racism almost three decades into the democracy. The spectre of racism is showing itself on multiple fronts e.g economy,social life,and even in sports. This week the country was greeted by visuals of a young white man in his twenties,the young white man is captured in a video referring to the Economic Freedom Fighters as the "Kiffers",to those who do not know the Economic Freedom Fighters is the third biggest political party in South Africa and it is mainly Black in its make-up and posture. Lot of people have correctly come out to condemn the white young man,however his actions are a reflection of a deep seated problem of white racism in South Africa and ofcourse the world in general.  STOP  WEAPONIZING RAPE Rape carries a very serious stigma and reputational damage(correctly so). So whenever a person is accused of rape it should not be taken lightly. South Africa is one of the countries confronted with scary high number of rape and sexual assaults cases. For years I am one of the people who have been writing consistently against the the worrying trend of women falsely accusing men of rape. This has been case especially in the political space. This morning Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was trending on X(formerly Twitter) and when I checked the reason for him trending that is when I came across a post from Daily Sun.   FORMER PRESIDENT JACOB ZUMA WON'T CAMPAIGN FOR THE ANC IN 2024! Today the 16th December 2023 the former President Jacob Zuma has announced he will not campaign for the governing African National Congress (ANC) in the upcoming National and Provincial Elections in 2024. The former President has advanced a plethora of issues and reasons behind his decision to not campaign for the ANC in 2024. Amongst the other reasons he listed it is that the ANC has betrayed the cause of the revolution and abandoned the mission for National Democratic Revolution. He has accused the ANC of Ramaphosa of declaring a war against the Black professionals . This development will clearly be subject to a number of analysis going forward. This week I came across on X formerly Twitter a post reporting that South Africa is ranked number five in the world in terms of alcohol consumption. Now it is not my intention to get into a debate about the credibility or lackof of this poll,however,any honest South African will not deny that in South Africa we have an alcohol abuse problem.  16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse!!! Today the 10th of December 2023 marks an end of another 16 Days Of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse campaign which started on the 25th of November 2023. This is an annual campaign which has been running for years now as far back as my high school days in the early 2000s. I think none of us can genuinely dismiss its importance interms of raising the awareness and making sure that the plight of the vulnerable is brought to the attention of all. However,of late I have found myself wondering and asking questions about the effectiveness of this campaign,what analytical framework is being used to measure its success?. Has this campaign not degenerated to a mere annual ritual? We have to ask these questions as a way of ensuring that the campaign remains effective and is making the necessary contribution in the fight against this scourge .
