NEWSROOM AFRIKA 405 ANOTHER MOUTHPIECE OF THE WHITE MONOPOLY CAPITAL!

The first of May this year marked the 5th Anniversary of the existence of the Newsroom Afrika 405 which came into air on the 1st of May 2019. The channel came as a replacement for the popular and progressive ANN7 which had occupied a very important space as an alternative voice from the white owned and controlled news channels such as ENCA. South African news space especially the 24hour channels is known to be dominated by ENCA and the SABC News which is a public broadcaster . The emergence of the ANN7 News Channel in 2013 was warmly received as it presented a possibility of having an alternative voice, a voice which is not dictated to by the selfish and narrow interests of the White Monopoly Capital. For the first time there existed a voice and a platform to counter the dominant narrative peddled by the White Monopoly Capital. Media Freedom is sinquanon to the prosperity of any country.

The ANN7 was quickly and harshly dealt with by the White Monopoly Capital through its agents such as Multichoice which is the owner of the platform in which television channels are housed(DStv). The White Monopoly Capital was disconcerted by the agenda driven by the ANN7 which was counter-acting the narrative peddled by the ENCA and to a certain extant the SABC News. This is because the White Monopoly Capital understands the central role and importance of media in shaping the narrative and therefore manufacturing false consensus. It is Malcom X who taught us that the media has power to make the guilty appear innocent and the innocent appear guilty. This explains why in all the revolutions or overthrowals of governments ,the first thing is the capturing of the media and all the communication apparatus . Controlling the narrative and how people view things, view their country is important to those who are leading the country. To elucidate the point I am making it is important to look at the so-called political analysts who are always invited on the platforms such as the ENCA and the SABC News. Those analysts are part of the broader machinery deployed by the White Monopoly Capital. It is for this reason that the White Monopoly Capital had to attack and eventually close down the ANN7, because the latter had opened a channel for analysts who hold views different from those of the White Monopoly Capital.

The ANN7 was later sold to   Mr Mzwanele Manyi. The sale came as a result of the Gupta family which started the channel leaving the country. The Guptas had to leave the country because the White Monopoly Capital had made it difficult for the Guptas to do business e.g the closure of the bank accounts and other banking facilities to the Guptas. Later on the contract of ANN7 was not renewed by Multichoice therefore effectively killing the channel and ensuring that no other alternative voice exists and the White Monopoly Capital narrative remains unchallenged.

The Newsroom Afrika 405 came as a replacement for the ANN7 as it occupies the slot that was occupied by ANN7. We are told that Newsroom Afrika 405 is owned by Black people named Thokozani Nkosi and Thabile Ngwati both who are former television presenters. Them winning this bid from Multichoice has left us with a plethora of unanswered questions as both Nkosi and Ngwati had no known business background or financial muscle to pull this off. It left us with questions that could this channel be one of the many projects of the White Monopoly Capital using Black faces to fool the masses who are demanding real transformation. Well with the hindsight of time, we can safely say that Newsroom Afrika 405 is just another mouthpiece of the White Monopoly Capital. To better understand the point I'm making you need to look at the rotation and recycling  of presenters between the Newsroom Afrika 405 and the ENCA and even with the SABC News. It is the same with the so-called analysts . The Newsroom Afrika 405 has made it its business to peddle the lies and narrative sponsored by the White Monopoly Capital, and attack all progressive Black people who are enemies of the White Monopoly Capital.

South Africa remains without an alternative Television News Channel.
