 THE COMMUNITY OF GREATER TSHIAME FACES A BLEAK FUTURE UNDER THE MALUTI A PHOFUNG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY!. In my adult life I have not known any community which has had more misfortunes than the community of Greater Tshiame when it comes to the electricity and water provision. In the time just under a decade we have had close to five incidents of total power outage with the first major incident occurring in December of 2014 and the power was only restored in January of 2015. The second incident occurred in October of 2015 with the power only being restored in December of 2015. The third incident occurred in December of 2021, the power was only restored in January 2022. The fourth incident took place in February of 2023 with power only restored after three weeks. In all of the above mentioned incidents the community had to hit the streets in a protest before power was restored.  WHY DO SOME MEN FIND IT SO EASY TO DENIGRATE WOMEN? One of the saddest things one can come across in the social media platforms such as Facebook and X(formerly Twitter) is the denigrating posts or messages directed to women. In majority of cases the authors behind such posts are men, such kind of behavior leaves one with lots of unanswered questions. These men find it so easy to call women all sorts of denigrating names or make use of the women's private parts as a weapon in whatever argument or fight they are engaged in, words such as "Msunu" are now a currency. Such things would be said and people would claim to be joking, but what kind of a joke that dehumanizes other people, jokes that impugn on the dignity of other people. We must really be a sick society which derives fun from impugning of people's dignity. We must pause and begin asking ourselves difficult questions about the kind of society we envision , the type of society we want our children an

 WHERE HAVE THE SO-CALLED RATING AGENCIES DISAPPEARED TO?. There is a deafening silence from the so-called rating agencies, these agencies were so loud during the Jacob Zuma administration . They became so popular that we got to know them by their individual names because their opinions were paraded all over the mainstream media. These agencies released reports almost on monthly basis giving all sorts of judgments and projections about the state of South Africa's economy and governance. It was these reports which provided the basis for the mobilization against the Zuma Presidency because these so-called rating agencies gave gloomy projections about the state of the country and its economy. We will do well to also keep in mind that these rating agencies are foreign owned and controlled, and ofcourse are not democratically elected bodies but self-appointed bodies doing the bidding on behalf of global capital as part of the neo-liberal project to discipline the governments

 CRY THE BELOVED CONGO!. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) remains a scar in the conscience of Afrikans . The Congo just like all Afrikan countries has not known peace since the invasion first by the Arabs and then followed by the Europeans.  THE IEC CANNOT JUSTIFY EMPLOYING TEACHERS AS ITS ELECTORAL STAFF!!!. The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) cannot continue justifying its decision to employ Teachers as its Electoral Staff, this is done in the face of high levels of unemployment confronting this country. That is not the only reason that the IEC cannot continue with this unjust action, the other reason is that majority of these Teachers are members of a trade union named the South African Democratic Teachers Union(SADTU) which is affiliated to a trade union federation Congress of South African Trade Unions(COSATU) and COSATU is in Alliance with the governing party the African National Congress(ANC).
